SALT SPRAY CHAMBER PERPOSE: The test chamber is designed to access corrosion resistance of various metallic & non-metallic component used in machines. DESCRIPTION: The test chamber is fabricated out of 12mm. thick acrylic sheet. Which is totally inert to salt action. To some extent they act as insulating walls also. Salt solution is kept at the bottom of the test chamber and is provided with a float valve to maintain constant water level in the tank. An overhead tank one side of the test chamber and is provided with a valve to maintain constant water level in the tank. An overhead tank is provided to supply salt solution to this tank. Air atomizer is used to create salt fog conditions in the chamber. Air pressure is maintained at 0.2 to 0.8Kg/cm2 to achieve desired density of fog in the test area. A bubble column is provided in the air supply line after filter regulator to increase humidity of air entering the chamber above 80%R.H. This condition ensures non-blocking of air nozzles due to salt deposition. A stainless steel hanger is provided to hang or hold the component under test as per requirement. One measuring disc is provided in the chamber to check fog concentration so as 1 to 2 ml of condensate is collected in the disks per hour. Total test period is 50 hours with two intervals of 24 hrs. and 1 hr. drains in between. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION: 1. Test Chamber: Made out of 12mm. acrylic sheet all-round mounted on a frame. 2. Fog generation tank for storing salt solution to fog tank. Capacity of both tanks together is 30 liters. Which are sufficient for one test without interruption the test. We can top up the tanks at each interval. 3. Suitable hanger arrangement for hanging the components under test. 4. Air filter regulator for supplying air to spray nozzle. Range: 0-2 Kg/cm2 120 liters/min. 5. Bubble column for increasing humidity of air going to spray nozzle above 85% R.H. as per the requirement o test. 6. Atomizer comprising of an air nozzle & solution suction piping. As per the size of the chamber one or two nozzles are used in the bottom tank if required. 7. This includes Digital Temperature Indicator cum Controller and Elapsed Time Indicator.
